Welcome to our new community site!

Feb 7, 2009

Hi! Last night we launched our new website, and before we even announced it, people were joining! Very exciting. I hope everyone is finding what they need and getting around the site with no problems. I did hear from one person that they never got the registration email with their password so that they could log in. If anyone else is experiencing that or something similar, I can help you--just send me an email at aclarkemoore@interweave.com and tell me what your username is. I'll give you a temporary password and directions for changing your password to something new once you get in. I'll be checking my email and the site frequently this weekend to make sure everything is going smoothly.

Thanks for visiting!

Hi, Amy:

Have you cloned yourself yet to handle everything? My password arrived--13.5 hours after I applied for it. I posted about it on the site feedback area. (Also about having the site maybe pick up Gravatars.)

I'm *really* glad SO has its own site. I think it will be so active you will NEED to clone yourself. Have fun, though.

Hi Deb,

No cloning yet--we'll see how it goes :)

Sorry about the password snafu--I think Eric has fixed it. It took me a bit to figure out what was happening, then I started sending them out manually.

Even with the little mishaps, it's still fun!

See you,

Amy

Hi Everyone,

I've gone through the list and sent an email with a password to everyone who signed up before 7:45 MST this morning, everyone else should have received one automatically. If you haven't received an email with a password, and it isn't in your spam filter, then let me know and I'll send you a new one. aclarkemoore@interweave.com.

Thanks for your patience and understanding as we smooth out these bumps!

Hi Amy:

Have just finished taking a good look around SO's new website.  Its fantastic.  Easy to navigate your way around and find information.....even for the not-so-computer-savvy types like myself.

The "group post" feature is a great idea too.  One of the guilds I belong to has a Fleece Study Group and I think this site would be a great tool for the group to communicate with.  Looking forward to giving it a try with the next Fleece Study (which should be starting up the end of May).

So thanks and congratulations on a job well done!  Appreciate everyone at SO's hard work.

All the best and cheers from,  Kim McKenna

Amy:  Re the group/guild site...When you have time....how does one go about setting things up so a group can use this area to communicate?  Thanks, Kim

Tues, 2-/10; I just got my e-mail about the site so joined.  Then, waited for my password.  Then checked my spam and there it was for some reason.  Hmm.  Anyway, here I am and you are wonderful Amy.  I have a lifetime subscription to Spin-Off that I purchased some years ago. Tee Hee.  Helen Hart

To start a group, just email me with the group's name and contact person and their email. I'll get it set up for you and send you a password and instructions for getting started.

I've just joined, and it looks like it is a Drupal website?  How great - and good job to whomever!

I look forward to investigating.....

This is great.  I just subscribed to spin-off and I love it but this will give me more immediate help.  Being a new spinner, I need all the help I can get.

Hi Everyone!  I just can't express my excitment to have found this community site!  I don't know a single soul in my area that spins.  I'm so ecstatic!  Thank you SO MUCH for creating this site!

Hi Amy,

Nice to see spin-off has created a site like knitting daily - looking forward to all the information!

Super! this will be a great help to our group. Some of us are fairly adept spinners and some are extreme novice. But I am sure we will all benefit from having this online.

Thanks for getting this up and running and Congratulations on a job well done.

Just signed up here in Victoria, Australia, and am looking forward to being part of it all. Am currently teaching high school Textiles and Senior Studio Arts, so any ideas will be greatfully received. (PS Have moved most of my fibres to another storage location for the remainder of the fire season. It has been quite dreadful with another appalling day today).

Adore the magazine and this is a great idea re: the site.

Well Done
