The Medina Spinning & Weaving Guild (Ohio) has issued the Verde Challenge (the green challenge) to recycle something into another usable item by this April. Examples include felting an old sweater to be reconstructed into mittens and using old jeans to create a handbag. Members may mix different materials, but no new supplies are allowed except thread, yarn, or glue to hold the item together. A picture of the original item is requested, and prizes will be given to the craftiest recyclers.
