Ballistite and cordite were both manufactured in the forms of cords.

It's really worth it. I'd love it if we could offer these reprints in "real" form. Maybe as the spinning population grows, we'll be able to! But... I yearn for something tangible! Call me silly, maybe it's the whole spinner/tactile thing, but I prefer to have something to peruse on my down time, rather than be fixed to yet another electronic device.

Ms. Ligon, I wonder if the fantastic e-books, 'Spin Your Socks', 'Spinner's Questions', 'A Closer Look', 'Spinning Wheel Primer' and the new 'Taking Measure of Handspun Yarn', might be available as printed matter in the near future, glossy cover and all?

The fiber has undergone a chemical process that coats each little strand with a chemical so that the scales can't expand. Hence they can't felt. Maybe the coating can absorb water, but not salty water. I'm just guessing. For spinning, it's like handling very fine, slightly slick plastic. -Linda

When a wool is treated to be 'Superwash' does it loose most or all of its ability to absorb moisture from your feet?

Many thought it true, but I wondered since the fiber/yarn will still take up water in the wash...

Thanks!
