I am a beginner spinner - learning everything from fantastic people on youtube and here. Including how to ply. My latest adventure is Navajo plying. If I was better at maintaining a constant thread diameter (am I in stage 2 of four?) I am sure my plying would look better. I understand that I need more...

hi - i see that you posted this awhile back, but thought i'd respond. my opinion: i like to spin and use singles, so "it's practical" for me. i don't mind just winding off onto niddy noddy to make a skein. i have a couple of turkish spindles (from turkey) and the info that i was...

Hi everyone, This is my first post in the Spin-Off forums! I've been spinning for just a couple months and at this point have done only singles, mainly because I didn't want to try plying yet, but also because my singles were coming out so thick I can't imagine having a yarn twice as thick...

I now carry it with me everywhere and am spinning medium weight yarn with it... http://www.thewoodemporium.co.uk/dropspindles.php

Can't help you because I was wondering the very same thing. Does anyone have any good sources for learning to spin on a Navajo spindle?

I spun two lovely singles and began plying. As I got closer and closer to the end I realized that I was going to have a fair amount left of just one single. What do you do to prevent this or what do you do with the left over single?
