Hi! That is a SakinaNeedles spindle. I try to list all the props used in the magazine under props (in the Spring issue this appears on page 4)--it is usually part of the Editor's page. Best wishes, Amy

Hmmm. I should try a turkish. I find them intriguing, but I had shied away from them because many are heavy. I prefer to spin fine, laceweight to cobweb. But several of the spindles on the jenkins link are an ounce, and I really like the idea of skipping the ballwinding chore--my least favorite part...

I love top whorls. I have two Kunderts which are absolutely divine, a 1.4 oz and a .9 oz I had Steve make for me just two months ago. I love love love love them! However, some of my favorite yarns have been spun and plied on a bottom whorl. Gotta have a hook on my bottom whorls, though. I can't stand...

I've been looking at the Turkish spindles. They just look so fascinating! However, I did my first bit of spinning yesterday, and the Greensleeves Bare Bones was very easy to use! Definitely need more practice/research/question-askig regarding drafting the roving, though. But that's for another...
I'm talking about 50 I own, and I suspect Abby is, too. And, yes, you don't own enough spindles. Nobody does. :D
Amen. And while I do not own 50+ spindles... there are a few more out there I will continue to lust for. Sadly I am about to embark on a new...

Yep, yep, me too in the 50 range. I am lovng my Spindlewood spindles these days - just can't use them enough. It is like an extention of my hand and arm, so natural. Pretty too.

Hello all! I've wanted to learn to spin for several years now, and have finally decided to go ahead and try it. I'm so excited!!! I will probably get a top-whorl spindle, since it sounds like that will last the longest. So, the question is, should I go with the absolute cheapest spindle to start...
