When the spindle comes to rest in second 25, 26 (video 2) one can see that the spindle is carved of wood into a point. It appears to me that she is spinning off the top point of the spindle like one would from a charka or great wheel. Around second 11, 12 in video 3 one can see the fine point of the top and for a brief moment her hand moves so that the point of the spindle and the yarn being spun appears. It reminds me in some fashion of the russian support spindles.
