I can't seem to get your copy of the free pattern of horse shoe cap.  Is your site not working?

Links are broken?  Can't download anything.

Check your download folder. The download happens automatically and very quickly as these are small files.

I'm having issues with the crown shaping.  I have 67 stitches after Rnds 1-4.  After Rnd 5, you are supposed to have 45 stitches.  The decreases are double decreases so you need groups of 3 stitches, 22x3=66 stitches.  So there won't be two stitches leftover to do yo,k2tog.

I think Rnd 5 should just be a repeat of Rnd 1 where you end with k1.  This gives you the 45 stitches.

I downloaded the guidelines for the horseshoe cap, what if I have some yarn that was spun earlier in the year, but is waiting for the right project to come along.  Since it is a 2 ply yarn, I do not have any singles, and fiber sample.  I think I can come up with the rest of the answers to the project notes.  Can I still submit a entry.

Dear ADanforth,

I checked in with our tech editor about the crown shaping. She says that the pattern is correct, but to pay close attention to the second repeat which has 1 st left over  as does the first repeat – so just do what the pattern says:  yo, dbl dec around and end k1.

Best of luck,

Amy

Dear DGulick,

It is fine to use yarn that you had in your stash even if you no longer have the singles or the fiber to send in. Fill in what you can on the project notes.

Looking forward to seeing your entries!

Amy

This is a very pretty, easy-to-knit cap.  I knit up my first one in a deep magenta-black-white yarn which looks pretty, but as I suspected  the pattern is lost.  I'm using a lighter, space-dyed yarn for the next one, maybe with something I've dyes for the Call for Dyed Yarn challenge.

I'd like the next knit hat challenge to be a beret -- my favorite hat.

For the 4"x4" swatch of fabric that needs to be sent, is that suppose to be knit in stockinette stitch or in the stitch pattern of the hat?

I'd like to see a picture of this before I download it.  Is there one somewhere?
