"All encompassing"? Not really! Only 2 entries for Maine and we have dozens of fiber farms!!!  I think more research is needed and an updated version posted real soon!!! Otherwise there's so much fiber resources that people are missing!

Only two entries for Texas?  Congrats for including Texas Fiber Mill, but where are all the mohair and alpaca and merino farms?  In the hill country area alone, we have several of these.  Texas is the third largest producer of mohair in the world, if I remember well.  And what about the numerous shops that stock wheels and fiber?  Understandably, as this is labeled as an advertising section, you presumably list only those who paid for the ad.  However, you also list this as an "all-encompassing" directory - which it patently is not.  It's either advertising or a directory - not both.

I have gorgeous alpaca/wool carded natural colors of fiber ready to spin.  I'm not in the book, but am located in the Upper Peninsula of MI.  All natural, organic, free range animals.

Hope we make the next directory : )

I agree about all the fabulous fiber farms in Maine. How can we give you information about quality farms that are not on this list? Although this is a great list of wonderful places, there is a lot missing! Can we send updates?

How do you get other sources on the list ?

Although it is a great resource, I have to agree with "badgersmama"; it cannot be a directory if everyone is not allowed to be included (i.e.; they have to pay to get in). Name it what it is: an advertising directory, or invite anyone in who wants to be included.        I have several neighbors who have Corriedales, Romneys, and alpacas, as real, self-supporting businesses.. All here in Siskiyou County, CA.  I myself have a small hobby farm and happen to sell a few fleeces myself! Mostly, though, I have sheep so I can spin their wool.

It's hard to believe that this is an all encompassing directory...I live in VT, where you have no natural fiber growers listed at all.  I know of at least 10 right off the top of myhead...I raise angora goats, my neighbors have Icelandics, Cheviots, Jacobs and Dorsets, my friend has Romney and Angoras, another friend has angora bunnies, and I know about 6 people who are raising alpacas.  All of these people sell fiber, fleeces, roving and yarn.

I'm guessing this is an advertising directory and you have to pay to be included.  Too bad, a really comprehensive guide would be awesome.
