First learned to spin at age 7 in a class at a museum where we made clay spindle whorls like the ones found in archaeological excavations -- and forgot it right away. I started helping with the German translation of Spin-Off Magazine in 1997 and decided I had to take up spinning again in 1998. Happy spinner since then, but I never have much time for it.
