Wool lovers from around the United Kingdom and beyond are anxiously awaiting this weekend's annual Woolfest. This famous celebration of all things sheep and wool is held each year in Cockermouth, a beautiful town in England's Lake District.

In addition to a fantastic vendor hall, spin-in,  and demonstration line-up, organizers help educate visitors about rare breeds of sheep. Sally Seed shared, "We have twenty rare breeds represented this year in the animals areathe most in recent years. And four of them are first timers: Border Leicester, Valais Blacknose, Torddu, and Llanwenog."

Also in the spirit of education, members of the Online Guild of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers will have a live link worldwide to show how they help one another and share their work online. Learn more about their international network of talented and helpful fiber artists on the Online Guild website.

The most exciting part of the event for many is the fleece sale. What spinner can resist those glorious wool fumes? Last year 470 fleeces were sold during the two-day event.
