Starting with one small triangle, each subsequent triangle grows smoothly from (and cleaves to) one edge of the previous triangle. Each becomes increasingly larger, like leaves unfurling as they grow. The triangles adapt to each other’s influence and become curvy and swirling.

MATERIALS
Fiber 100% Honey Tussah Silk (Foxglove Fiberarts Supply), 6 oz (170 g). 100% Easy-to-Spin Cotton (Brookmoore), 4 oz (113 g). 100% Tussah Silk Tops (Dye House Gallery), Soft Fruit, Saffron, Olive, Earth, and Shell, 1 oz (28 g) each. 100% Cotton Tops (Dye House Gallery), same colors as Tussah Silk Tops, 1 oz (28 g) each. Note: Not all fiber was used; the finished shawl weighs about 8½ oz (240 g).

Yarn 3-ply (chain-plied) sportweight (1,450 ypp; 14 wpi), 810 yd.

Needles Size 10 (6 mm): 40" (100 cm) or longer circular (cir). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Other Supplies Marker (m); removable m; tapestry needle.

Gauge 13 sts and 24 rows = 4" (10 cm) in garter st.

Finished Size 75" (190.5 cm) along upper edge, 33" (84 cm) tall at point.
