LoginInspired by historic Welsh stockings and modern Welsh wool, these colorful socks are worked in the round from the top down in surprisingly easy stripe motifs. The beginning of round will shift several times, which distributes the yarn ends resulting from the color changes.
YARN Garthenor Organic Snowdonia Sock (100% Romney and Hebridean wool; 219 yd [200 m]/1. oz [50 g]; fingering weight): Green socks: Juniper (light green; MC), Ogwen (dark green; CC1), and Glaslyn (oatmeal; CC2), 1 skein each. Orange socks: Glaslyn (oatmeal; MC), Idris (gray marl; CC1), and Sundew (rust; CC2), 1 skein each.
NEEDLES Size 0 (2 mm): set of double-pointed (dpn) or long circular (cir) for magic loop. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
NOTIONS Removable marker (m); tapestry needle.
GAUGE 36 sts and 46 rnds = 4" (10 cm) in St st.
FINISHED SIZE 8" (20.5 cm) foot circumference and 9½" (24 cm) long from back of heel to tip of toe; foot length is adjustable.
