Of course, I take my crochet to the beach, and I usually take a book as backup. Sometimes it does get a little too hot or windy for crocheting, but I’ve discovered that the beach is also a wonderful place to spin.

You read that right! See, I have this fabulous little e-spinner—and a battery pack for it. All I need to do is place a towel on the sand, and suddenly the beach becomes my spinning studio.

Materials
Fiber 80% organic Polwarth/20% silk (Greenwood Fiberworks), Peacock, 4 oz (113 g).
Yarn S-spun, Z-plied 3-ply heavy worsted weight (825 ypp; 9 wpi), 200 yd.
Hook G-6/4 mm crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge.
Gauge Motif = 4" square in pattern.
Finished Size 26" circumference × 7" tall.
