Summer 2026 is all about stretch—we want to know how you stretch your yardage, your skills, and even how you make extra-stretchy yarn! For this issue, we invite you to make the most of your fiber stash, share your favorite techniques, and showcase your best work.
Whether it’s exploring the world of crimpy wools, experimenting with drafting techniques, or diving into the difference between stretch vs. elasticity, there’s always room to grow. Do you have an idea for a tutorial on a skill you wish you’d had as a beginner? Or do you want to share your tips for entering your fiber into a state fair?

As spinners, we are often faced with an overwhelming variety of options to choose from, but spinning doesn’t have to break the bank. Do you have a desert-island spindle that you can’t live without? How do you make that one special braid shine? What’s an affordable fiber to spin for a big project? Should you take that free fleece—and if you do, what’s the best way to plan to use it? What are your favorite affordable mix-ins to make your next blend pop? We want to hear your creative ideas for making the most of your spinning resources!

When you want a quick win, what do you spin? What are your favorite one-bobbin projects and ways to use up scrap handspun? Send us your suggestions for quick projects that go beyond the swatch!
Spin Off Summer 2026 will be dedicated to stretching our spinning horizons and discovering new ways we can make the most of our craft. Send us your article and project proposals for the Stretch issue of Spin Off. We look forward to hearing from you!
